Maya

 

This is an example of simulating a flow by using a geometrical object.

You might use this for developing graphics of a dust storm blowing through a canyon.

 

 

Here are two images showing a development progression: Force fields are used to guide the movement of particles in the simulation. Particles in Maya are basically the same as turtles or agents in NetLogo.

In the first image, the spatial arrangement of objects is shown.

In the second image, the forces have been adjusted to simulate a candle flame shape. This still image is part of a dynamic sequence (unfinished at this time) showing the actual candle flame motion.

 

 

 

These two images show the development of a whirlpool or tornado type simulation.
